Join us at Greno Woods for a volunteering and skill building session open only to 12-18 year olds. These sessions are suitable for all levels of confidence and experience – no conservation background required!
We will spend 1hr 30 on a conservation task in Greno Woods, this might include pulling up invasive saplings, or using tools such as bow saws and loppers. Then we’ll have a lunch break at our outdoor shelter before trying a bushcraft or wellbeing activity- this might be fire lighting, whittling, a nature walk, or much more. You can sign up for one session or multiple-we’ll do something different each time.
We will have 2 breaks for tea and lunch (but if you need to take extra breaks just ask!). Coffee, tea and biscuits will be provided. If you would like to participate but need support with transport or lunch costs let us know- we may be able to reimburse these costs.
Please bring drinking water, lunch and outdoor clothing suitable for the weather. We recommend grippy shoes, warm layers and a waterproof jacket. These can be borrowed from us too- let us know.
Please note there is one composting toilet on site, and in some areas the ground may be uneven.
All attendees must complete a google form before attending- this will be emailed ahead of time.
We will meet at Woodhead Road car park- shown in the google maps point below at 10:30am.
If you have any questions about the session or are running late please contact me on c.porter-young@wildsheffield.com
